We are having our ice cream day/songs for parents on Friday. I said to the children that "next day" would be our ice cream day but that was not right. SFTB did not have their Crazy Olympics Day today because of the rain. It has been re-scheduled For Tuesday June 21. The children were a bit disappointed until they found out they were not missing this fun even totally. Just for clarification the Hot Dog lunches are on  July 15 th (SFMB) and July 16th (SFTB). On Thursday March 3rd SFTB took a trip to KinderVillage. It was an awesome experience for the children. They spent lots of time in the world of their imagination - being a baker, a doctor, a singer, a hairdresser, an astronaut or a pilot. Today SFMB was visited by a team of nursing students from St. Clair College. They worked with the children and showed them how to wash their hands properly and discussed good and bad germs.  Each of the children brought home a folder today with a certificate, a calendar to chart their proper handwashing, complete with stickers, and a message for parents. Thursday November 11th provided a great learning experience for the SFTB class. Drawing on their prior knowledge, we talked about what Remembrance day is. We also talked about the solemn and reflective nature of the day and why we wear poppies. Our field trip to Patillo Orchard has been re-scheduled  to Thursday Sept 30 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m..Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us today and we were forced to cancel the trip.  Nineteen soaking wet SKs would not have been pretty to see.
